The stories of BC Black pioneers

27 January 2021

We are proud to have supported this new online project from the BC Black History Awareness Society. British Columbia’s Black Pioneers tells the story of the 800 educated and skilled Black men and women who immigrated to the Colony of British Columbia in 1858. This Community Stories project features lively writing and juxtaposes rich historical material with engaging and informative contemporary videos.
