A Small Island’s Experience of the First World War

11 April 2022

Cape Breton and the First World War explores the global conflict through the lives of four individuals from Cape Breton Island. Featuring the stories of a nursing sister, a tunneller, a soldier, and a prisoner of war, this new interactive exhibit by the Beaton Institute not only examines their individual experiences, but also the sociopolitical environment of the time.
