Radical Reform — Education and Society 1845–1945

Toronto District School Board 2017

Explore the century-long journey from birth to rise of a radical new idea: a public education system. Through more than 1,000 texts and visuals, the exhibit shares the stories of educators and others at the heart of this “Radical Reform” — starting with Egerton Ryerson, superintendent in Upper Canada (1844–1876), who established the compulsory public education system that revolutionized education in this country.
