A composition in black, white, and red against a blue background. An animal-like figure composed of two circles is visible on the left. Atop its head stands a bird with outstretched wings. On the right, a large red circle dominates the top half of the painting, while a galloping animal occupies the lower half. (Kittie Bruneau – One Eye Suzy, 1963 – Oil on canvas)

Collective Actions: A Feminist View of the Collection

Musée d’art de Joliette 2025

This virtual exhibition presents a selection of works by women artists, drawn entirely from the collection of the Musée d’art de Joliette (MAJ). The narratives that emerge are structured around three timelines, exploring the social and political conditions of women, the aesthetic and stylistic choices of women artists, and a history of women’s involvement at the MAJ.
