Like many other Canadian cities, London, Ontario, felt the impact of the trench warfare fought in Europe between 1914 and 1918. The exhibit explores collective memory and individual grief by mapping homes in mourning, as well as official commemorative sites found throughout the city today. It unveils artifacts that commemorate or acknowledge the sacrifices made, and puts the spotlight on the next-of-kin, who experienced loss on a more personal level.
